NEC Corporation of Malaysia (NECoMAL) has officially announced the appointment of Chong Kai Wooi as its new managing director from 20th January 2017.
Chong replaces Andrew Lee, who will be leaving the company at the end of this month after more than five years in NEC.

Japan's NEC established its Malaysian entity in March 1988, which has gradually evolved into a solutions provider in IT, networking and telecommunications, as well as display technologies.

Commenting on his new responsibilities of driving NEC's business growth and managing operations in Malaysia, he said:  "It is indeed a privilege and honour to be entrusted with the responsibilities as the Managing Director of NEC Corporation of Malaysia, a company that is at the forefront of technological breakthroughs and spearheading a brighter world with its cutting-edge products and solutions."

"I look forward to working hand-in-hand with the staff to spur NEC to greater heights in Malaysia," Chong added.

His 22 years of IT industry experience includes a number of roles in sales management, account management, business development, consultancy and pre-sales activities.
Chong first joined Hewlett Packard Malaysia in 2004 and later in 2013, he was the head of Consulting for HPE South East Asia Taiwan & HK Network Consulting practices.

During his tenure as the country director of HPE Malaysia, Global Industry Verticals and Strategic Alliance from 2015-2016, he was responsible for driving sales growth in the enterprise and public sector segments.
