Is security the secret key to Malaysia's 'Year of the Digital Economy' 2017?

National government agencies MDEC, CyberSecurity Malaysia join a gathering of researchers in Kuala Lumpur to discuss how security can act as an economic enabler for 2017.

"We are monitoring the cyberspace and if there are any incidents such as ransomware attacks reported to us, we will both respond and conduct forensics," said Dr Aswami.
"Besides keeping up-to-date with the Malaysian cybersecurity landscape, we work together with the National Security Council and The Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) to respond to malware and infections in Malaysia," he said.
"Thus, foreign investors can be rest assured that they can enter Malaysia as we are here as a national security agency to combat cybercrime," added Dr Aswami.
